This directory merges two independent research passes (one from Gemini, one from ChatGPT) and then verifies every entry against Google Places — so temple names, street addresses and map coordinates reflect the actual buildings, not town-centre approximations.
That verification does three things at once: it pins each temple to its real location, it separates temples that the source lists had stacked on a single city coordinate, and it filters out entries that turned out not to be Hindu temples (or, in one case, a temple in Alabama).
A small number of well-known temples that didn't return a clean Places match are included at approximate locations and labelled as such on their card.
Distances are straight-line (as-the-crow-flies) from your postcode, meant for ranking rather than routing — tap Directions on any temple for a real driving route.
Coverage is broad but not exhaustive; national bodies list several hundred places of worship, and community temples open and move. Use the Report or add a temple button to submit a new temple, a correction, a closure, or opening hours.
